Algeria, Nigeria, Cameroon and Tunisia are the latest African sides to book their place in the third round of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup, bringing them one step closer to playing in Qatar next year.
They join six other African countries who have already reached this stage of qualification, with those being: Mali (Group E), Egypt (Group F), Ghana (Group G), Senegal (Group H), Morocco (Group I) and DR Congo (Group J).
How many African countries will be at the 2022 World Cup?
World Cup qualification is arguably one of the toughest in the tournament, with the 10 group winners of the second round progressing to feature in one of the five two-legged games.
The five winners of these third-round matches will progress to the World Cup next winter.
Algeria and Nigeria stutter but progress
Algeria drew their final game 2-2 against Burkina Faso, with the result enough for the side to top their group.
Manchester City's Riyad Mahrez and Galatasaray's Sofiane Feghouli scored on the night to get their country one step closer to Qatar.
Nigeria also drew to reach the third round. Napoli's Victor Osimhen scored in their 1-1 draw against Cape Verde to send the Super Eagles through to the third round.
Cameroon were able to beat the Ivory Coast 1-0 with a goal from Karl Toko Ekambi, while Tunisia beat Zambia 3-1 thanks to goals from Aissa Laidouni, Mohamed Drager and Ali Maaloul.
